Your donation changes the lives of dogs and veterans

More than a donor, you’re a vital part of our family

Veteran suicide and PTSD are heartbreaking realities. Dog shelters are overflowing and euthanasia rates are at staggering levels. At Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue, we are changing lives by rescuing dogs from shelters, and training them to become companion or service dogs for veterans in need. With every gift you make, we can take one more step in saving more lives and supporting more veterans in reclaiming their sense of purpose and independence.

We are a 100% volunteer organization with 100% of your donations going to fulfill our mission. Your tax deductible donation helps us continue our rescue and support efforts. Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization that relies solely on donations to cover training or ongoing support costs such as:

  • Food
  • Training tools (collars, leashes, and toys)
  • Veterinary wellness checkups (during training and at veteran community events)
  • Vaccinations (during training and at veteran community events)
  • Medications
  • Care supplies (beds, crates, food bowls, grooming supplies)

Your role in our mission

As part of our community, you’re not just donating – you’re helping create second chances. The veterans we serve and the dogs we rescue are forever changed by your kindness. Together, we are building a future where no veteran or dog is left behind.

We are incredibly grateful to have you with us. Your involvement makes all the difference – and we can’t do it without you.

  • $25 – Basic Support Package: Provides food and basic supplies for a rescued dog in our program for a week.

Monthly or Yearly Giving

Your commitment can make a life-changing difference by providing our mission ongoing support.

Consistent Impact: Monthly donations allow us to plan ahead, ensuring we can rescue more dogs, provide advanced obedience training, and help veterans train their own service dogs with confidence.

Double the Good: Each donation saves a dog’s life and gives a veteran a loyal companion and emotional support, helping them on their journey to healing.

Budget-Friendly: A smaller amount each month can add up to a huge impact over the year, giving you the power to make a difference without a large one-time gift.

Exclusive Updates: As a monthly donor, you’ll receive special updates about our dogs, training programs, and the veterans whose lives are transformed by your generosity.

Other ways to donate

Whether you pledge $1 or $50 per paycheck through workplace giving, your support can make all the difference when you combine your charitable contribution with the collective generosity of your peers and other employees. When we know how much money we can expect to receive from workplace giving donations, we can plan how to use your contribution more strategically and make a stronger impact.

Many companies offer payroll deductions, matching funds, volunteer service hours, and stock grants. It’s an efficient way to make tax-deductible donations! Contact the HR department regarding your company’s program and steps.

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about.

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity, like Fidelity Charitable, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to any eligible IRS-qualified public charity.

If you’re a qualified donor, at least 70.5 years old, you can give directly from your IRA to reduce taxable income and fulfill required minimum distributions. A qualified donors’ donation to Stars and Stripes Dog Rescue can maximize tax benefits and could be the perfect way to support veterans and rescue shelter dogs.

If you are at least 73-years-old and have a required minimum distribution from your IRA, you can decrease the amount you take for yourself as taxable income by deferring all, or a portion of, your required minimum distribution funds to a charity instead.

Donations of supply items are just as valuable as monetary donations. In fact, we can never have too many of our supplies. When you buy an item through our Wish Lists, it will be shipped directly to us. So all you have to worry about is picking out what you want to buy!
